BSL Miami
A BREAKING DOCUMENTARY
UNFOLDING THE RAW TRUTH ON BREED SPECIFIC LEGISLATION.
BSL Miami:
The organization of MCABSL, Miami Coalition Against Breed
Specific Legislation, wish to inform all dog owners of the BSL in
Miami, Breed Specific Legislation. BSL is a law that bans or restricts
a person or persons to own a particular breed dog. These laws are
declaring an entire breed of dog as "dangerous or vicious" based on
actions of a few dogs from a breed. The BSL has been started in Miami
Dade County but we are here to stop this discrimination and make sure
this legislation does not infect other cities, counties and states.
The BSL in Miami targets and punishes dogs and their owners of certain
breeds listed in this legislation regardless if a dog is well behaved,
taken care of or never had a history of aggression or biting. This
legislation condemns the whole breed instead of taking a case by case
dog incident to determine whether the dog is dangerous. BSL applies
only to dogs of a certain appearance, not to any and all dogs. It does
not take into consideration how the owner has raised, trained, or
managed the dog. This legislation does not take into account the dog’s
actual behavior.
Visit the
MCABSL website to find out the full details of BSL in Miami, see the work
they do, meet the volunteers and even become a member. Also check out
this site to find out about their documentary due
out in the fall of 2010. This documentary gives a clear understanding
of the targeted breeds and what it means to dogs and their families. Please visit
